WELCOME TO JERSEY *
Jersey, Channel Islands
Jersey is a picturesque island close to the coast of France but still part of the British Isles. We hope that the bank holiday weekend will allow many of you to make the most of the beautiful beaches, countryside, and coastal walks the island has to offer.
TRAVELLING TO JERSEY
We recommend flying into Jersey Airport, which takes around one hour from the UK. If you’d prefer to arrive by sea, ferries can be taken from Portsmouth, Poole and St Malo.
If you’re travelling from the U.K, you won’t need your passport to enter, but it’s still sensible to bring it or some photo ID.
GETTING AROUND
You can drive pretty much anywhere on Jersey in half an hour. Immediately outside the Arrivals Terminal is a taxi rank and public bus stop providing frequent services to Liberation Station in St Helier - the bus numbers are 9, 15 and 22. If you would like to rent a car, you can also do this at the airport.
Within the island, we would recommend local buses or a taxi app called RYDE.
WHERE TO STAY
Recommended Hotels and Guesthouses
There are plenty of places to stay in Jersey, from well-known hotel chains to cosy B&Bs.
There are two handy Premier Inn hotels and a Radisson Blu located in St Helier. If you would like to stay closer to the venue, Greenhills Country Hotel, La Place Hotel, and La Haule Manor are all a 5-minute drive from Monte Bello.
As the bank holiday weekend is likely to be busy, please book early to avoid disappointment.
WHAT TO DO
Activities on the Island
EAT & DRINK
The Jersey dairy, Royal potatoes, and freshly-caught shellfish are not to be missed. Our favourite places to eat include El Tico beach cantina in St Ouens, Awabi for pan-Asian food in St Helier, and Faulkner’s Fisheries near Plémont for a casual but delicious shellfish BBQ.
EXPLORE
Jersey has some of the best beaches in Europe, particularly out west! St Ouen’s Bay is amazing for surfing, St Brelade’s for beachside food, and Plémont Bay (our personal favourite) for stunning caves and a real feeling of escape.
For a hit of history, Mont Orgeuil castle is a historic monument with amazing views across to France.
